Brett Favre and Jets Atop AFC East After OT Win

The new look Brett Favre New York Jets now sit atop the AFC East after defeating the rival Patriots by a score of 34 to 31 in OT. The game became dramatic in the second half as the Patriots came back from a score of 24-6 Jets at halftime and tied the game with one second left on a Randy Moss touchdown grab. The Jets however did not fold under the leadership of veteran QB Brett Favre as he helped engineer a drive that saw the Jets convert on third and fifteen and setup Feeley for a game winning 34 yard field goal. Sure these were not the Patriots of old and the defense gave up huge numbers to new Patriots QB Matt Cassel, but these Jets got the job done. The reward is the Jets are flying high atop the AFC East, and playoffs hopes are rising. Brett Favre returned to football to get one more chance with the Packers to go to the Super Bowl, now he just could get it with the Jets.
